Work in the World

about.
Imani Qamar is a multidisciplinary artist whose work combines spatial design and storytelling.
With roots in renovation, their practice emerged from a desire to reimagine domestic living and challenge conventional norms, and evolved through hands-on work, from reviving disused spaces to collaborating on major creative projects across the UK.
Since completing a BA in Interior Architecture, winning multiple awards, they’ve contributed to high-profile works including The Looping Boat in Sheffield and Open Wound at Tate Modern.
Their current focus is between developing spatial solutions that subvert the constraints of rental living and creating immersive worlds that weave together physical making, narrative, and sound, where fact blends with fiction, nature overtakes industry, and new ways emerge from the remnants of the old.
New work coming soon!
